ABOUT JOB

 

The part-time Receptionist for the Office of the President serves as the first point of contact for the President’s Office and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, professional, and service-oriented experience for all visitors, employees, students, and external stakeholders.

The Receptionist exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates exceptional customer service, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary point of contact, providing customer serve to students, employees, visitors, community and stakeholders.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations in department, including phone calls and e-mails, opening and distribution of mail as requested, the greeting of visitors, and determine those requiring priority attention
    • Serves as liaison between department the campus, as well external stakeholders
    • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries
    • Monitor the reception area Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and other correspondences as deem appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisors

Required Qualifications

Minimum:
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Minimum of two years (2) experience as receptionist or related support role
(or) combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree, three years (3) experience as Administrative Assistant / Receptionist

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Displays professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Ability to prioritize and organize numerous assignments; manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to make decisions which range from moderate to a significant impact on the immediate work environment
  • Strong organizational & problem solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively
