ABOUT JOB
The Personal Assistant provides administrative, organizational, and practical support to a psychologist, who works with individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. This role focuses on improving day-to-day efficiency, maintaining organization, and supporting both business and technology-related tasks.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. This position also requires patience and clear communication, as the assistant will support a professional with a visual impairment and provide basic technology guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Scheduling Support:
– Manage calendar, appointments, and scheduling
– Send reminders for upcoming meetings, deadlines, and professional obligations
– Assist with email organization and basic correspondence
Basic Bookkeeping:
– Log incoming checks and maintain accurate payment records
– Track and organize financial documentation (non-complex bookkeeping only)
Office Organization & Filing:
– Organize physical and digital files
– Maintain a clear and accessible filing system
– Assist with general office organization and workflow efficiency
Travel & Logistics:
– Research and book hotel accommodations as needed
– Assist with planning logistics related to work travel
Technology Support & Training:
– Provide basic support in using Apple devices, including Mac computers and iPhones
– Assist with improving efficiency in email use, document handling, and file organization
– Offer patient, step-by-step guidance to build confidence and independence.
Required Qualifications:
– Strong organizational and time-management skills
– Excellent communication skills (clear, patient, and professional)
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
– Basic computer proficiency (email, documents, scheduling tools)
– High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
– Reliable and consistent work habits
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience as a personal assistant, administrative assistant, or similar role
– Basic bookkeeping experience (tracking payments, simple logs)
– Comfort assisting individuals with accessibility needs (e.g., visual impairment)
Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
